How To Start a Successful Online Business…The Right Way!

There are many different ways to start an online business. You can create a product and promote it or you can sell different products as an affiliate to make a commission. This is what I do. I sell different products as an affiliate marketer and make a commission from those sales.

If you are interested in doing something like this…

Step 1: Find what interests you… also known as your niche.

This could be health and fitness, ninja warrior, rock climbing, making money online, cooking, fashion, pretty much anything! Make sure you are able to narrow it down to something specific. This will help you to narrow down your target market and be able to promote to them specifically. Once you figured out what you are interested in…

Step 2: Look into products in the market you want to promote.

See if there are any affiliate programs out there that allow you to sell the products in your niche. Some affiliate programs I use are JVZoo, ClickBank, and ShareASale. Make sure that you research the products that you want to promote. You do not want to just promote any and every product that you see in your niche. They have to actually work and be something that people want to buy. The next step is optional, but it can really help to drive traffic to your affiliate offers.

Step 3: Build a website/blog or YouTube Channel.

You can set up a blog very quickly with Blog.com, WordPress.com, Siteblog.com, or you can make your own with WordPress.org. This will require some technical skills, third party hosting, and a lot of time, but if you have it, I say, “Go for it!” You blog will be customized to the way you want and you can definitely add more widgets than what is provided to you by the other blog making sites. You can even start a YouTube channel if you like to make different videos. This is a great way to send free organic traffic to your affiliate offers by putting together different product reviews, tips that have helped you in your business or even tutorials. Just make sure that what you are putting out is valuable content.  Again, the products you want to promote have to be in your niche and make sense to promote.

Step 4: Get an autoresponder if you want to send out newsletters.

Newsletters are a great way to promote other products through email marketing. It also allows you to follow-up with your subscribers and continue to give them valuable content. It can also help build your emailing list once you start to get subscribers to your blog or even YouTube channel.  Once you set it up you are all set. Literally you can “Set it and forget it!” Some autoresponders you can look into are MailChimp, Get Response and AWeber.

Step 5: Traffic, traffic, traffic!

Some ways to bring traffic to your blog or YouTube is through social media like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr. You can also look into paid traffic sources like Solo Ads, banners, PPC (pay per click), CPC (cost per click), or even Facebook and Pinterest ads. It all depends on your marketing budget and how much time you want to invest in driving traffic to your site or offers.

Let the journey begin!

These are the best steps to take to start an online affiliate marketing business. If you want to sell your own products you can utilize these same steps, but you will have to go a little bit further to make sure that the product you have has a strong sales funnel and possible backend products to drive even more sales. You will also have to look for an affiliate program that allows you to sell your product like ClickBank or JVZoo.

Hopefully this quick article gave you an idea on what it takes to start an online business. Definitely do the research before making a decision to jump into this. It is possible and doable, but it will take some time, effort, and a little bit of money to get it up and running.  Good luck and keep a look out for some more products, tips and tricks to help your new business or existing business to flourish!
